Always a winter favorite is Chiller Snowman!

Age groups:  preschool to high school

List of craft items:

1 clean white sock

3 rubber bands

filler of salt, rice, sugar, or sand

variety of buttons

yarn 12 inches

cool glue gun

Let's put Chiller Snowman together:

Start with the base of Chiller Snowman.  Carefully fill the white sock with your filler (salt, rice, sugar, or sand) 1/3 way up from the toes. This will be the largest of the 3 snowballs. Place the rubber band to make the bottom of the ball on the Chiller Snowman.  May need to twist the rubber band on 2 - 3 times to secure.

Next is the middle ball of Chiller Snowman.  Carefully fill the next section of the white sock with your filler another 1/3 way up.  Place the rubber band to make the middle ball on the Chiller Snowman.

Next is the top ball of Chiller Snowman.  This will be the head.  Carefully fill the next section of the white sock with your filler, but leave 2 - 3 inches of the top of the sock empty.  Place the rubber band to make the top of the Chiller Snowman.  Make certain the rubber band is tight, so none of the filler comes out.  Turn the top of the sock down over part of the Chiller Snowman's head for a hat.

Now comes the fun part - decorating.  Add buttons for eyes, nose, and mouth on the top ball for the head. Make sure that Chiller Snowman has a smile on his face.   Add 2 - 3 more buttons down the middle ball for decoration. 

Tie the yarn around Chiller Snowman's neck (between the head and the middle ball) into a bow.

Feel free to add your own personal touches to the Chiller Snowman.  Add a scarf, maybe little twig arms, a colorful snowflake on his hat.  You could even add a little evergreen tree in one hand.  Use your imagination.

Chiller Snowman can also be adjusted to become Mrs. Chilly Snowlady, and the Snowkids too.
