My two year old daughter loved making this craft. Of course, she couldn't do all the steps on her own, but she was always willing to hold "this here". She was enthralled with her fishies for days and would sit at the table watching them float around in their aquarium.

My Very Own Fish Aquarium Materials:
  • Large, transparent plastic container with a well fitting lid
  • Small rocks (washed)
  • Felt of various colors
  • Black permanent marker
  • Transparent Contact Paper
  • A few pennies or dimes
  • Water
Instructions:
  1. Cut fish shapes (approx. 1 1/2" long) out of various colors of felt. Use the permanent marker to draw eyes or other features on your fish.
  2. Cut two squares of Contact Paper (2 1/2" x 2 1/2") for each fish. Seal each fish in between two squares of Contact Paper. Trim about 1/4" - 1/2" around each fish.
  3. Using a small strip of Contact Paper or transparent tape (approx. 1 1/2" long), attach a penny to the bottom of each fish, letting it hang down about one inch.
  4. Set your fish aside.
  5. Place small rocks on the bottom of the plastic container. Fill with water.
  6. Place your fish inside your "aquarium", attach lid, and watch your fish swim around.
